Brazil Breaks Tradition: Jordan Brand Joins the Seleção in Historic Partnership

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has ushered in a new era for the Brazil national football team after announcing a historic partnership with Jordan Brand. The collaboration, unveiled during a star-studded event in São Paulo, introduces an innovative away jersey that replaces the traditional swoosh of Nike with the iconic Jumpman silhouette of Michael Jordan.

The new design preserves Brazil’s classic blue and yellow color palette but adds a distinctive twist: the legendary “Elephant Print,” a texture made famous by the Air Jordan 3 sneakers released in 1988. Beyond aesthetics, the jersey features Aero-FIT technology, making it 11% lighter and significantly more breathable while using 100% recycled materials to combine high performance with environmental sustainability.

Vinícius Jr., star forward for Real Madrid, has been positioned as one of the faces of the collaboration. The Brazilian highlighted that the partnership goes far beyond the pitch.

“For every kid in Brazil who dreams of having a ball at their feet, this partnership means something truly special. Jordan Brand and our national team share more than football — they represent culture, creativity, and greatness,” he said.

From the American brand’s side, its president Sarah Mensah described the move as a fusion where performance and cultural expression go hand in hand. The collection will also include specialized training apparel and customized versions of the Nike Tiempo boots to complete the project’s visual identity.

The new kit will make its on-field debut on March 26, when Brazil faces the France national football team in a high-profile international friendly.

It will be a major test for the five-time world champions, who are looking to build momentum ahead of this summer’s World Cup. Brazil will lead Group C alongside the Morocco national football team, Haiti national football team, and Scotland national football team. With a bold new look and the same historic ambition, the Seleção aims to prove that its legacy can evolve with style.
