Superstar batter Virat Kohli showcased his linguistic skills by speaking fluent Bengali while endorsing a bat from Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz. After the recently concluded two-Test series between India and Bangladesh, the two cricketers had a brief chat about a bat manufacturer. In a video widely shared on social media, Mehidy Hasan can be seen encouraging Virat Kohli to comment on the quality of the bat.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz revealed that Virat Kohli had previously enjoyed using bats from the manufacturer.

In response to Mehidy’s revelation, Virat Kohli made a Bengali quip: "MKS bat, Khoob Bhalo Achchi" (MKS bat, it is very good). Mehidy was pleasantly surprised when Kohli endorsed the bat in Bengali.

"Very good bat, keep doing the good work. You make very good-quality bats. Continue this work and provide cricketers with quality bats," Kohli said, addressing the manufacturer.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s meeting with Virat Kohli coincided with his meeting with India captain Rohit Sharma, to whom he gifted a bat from the same manufacturer. Rohit wished Mehidy the best and shared that the Bangladesh all-rounder had started his own bat company with friends.

"I’ve known Mehidy for a long time. He is a very good cricketer, and I am proud of him for starting his own bat company with some friends. I wish him all the best; may God grant him success. I hope this company rises above the rest," Rohit said.

India defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in the Test series on Tuesday to inch closer to sealing a spot in the World Test Championship final. Despite losing two-and-a-half days of the Test match due to rain and wet outfield at Green Park in Kanpur, India hammered Bangladesh by seven wickets.

Rohit Sharma's men played fearless cricket, pushing the game forward on Day 4. India scored 285 in just 34.4 overs, breaking world records for the fastest team 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250. Bangladesh were comfortably outplayed in both the Tests -- Chennai and Pune.

India and Bangladesh will meet in a three-match T20I series, starting Sunday, October 6. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will not be part of the assignment as the two cricketers retired from the shortest format of the game after the World Cup. Suryakumar Yadav will lead a strong 15-man squad against Bangladesh in the T20I series.
