When one mentions Arjun Tendulkar, the reference to Sachin Tendulkar cannot be far behind. That is the legacy Arjun carries. It comes with its share of expectations, as well as pressure. In a recent interview, Arjun was asked whether he feels the weight of expectations as the son of Sachin Tendulkar. In response, Arjun said that his focus remains on enjoying his game rather than listening to outside noise. "I play cricket out of passion, not to prove anything to anyone. I just focus on the process of working hard and enjoying my game," Arjun replied on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube channel.Arjun is playing for Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year after three seasons with Mumbai Indians. Ahead of the new season, Arjun was asked to name a cricketing idol apart from his father, Sachin. He picked Yuvraj Singh. "Obviously his batting, what else?" he said. On Yuvraj's bowling, Arjun added: "He was a spinner; I am a pacer."Arjun first entered the IPL when he was signed by the Mumbai Indians in 2021. He played for the franchise until 2025, though opportunities were limited, before joining the Lucknow franchise ahead of this year's campaign. While the southpaw is yet to make his debut for the new franchise, he has understandably arrived with expectations of playing a little more than he did for MI.During the same interaction, Arjun opened up about his experience at MI and the limited opportunities he received at the franchise."You played a few matches for Mumbai Indians (MI) and bowled well. Your swing was good, so did you feel you should have gotten more opportunities?" Arjun was asked. He replied, "Who doesn't feel that? No one wants to sit on the bench. But we want to work hard and perform when we get a chance."
