Fremantle can confirm ruckman Liam Reidy and midfielder Will Brodie have both requested to be traded in the upcoming AFL Trade Period for more senior opportunities.

Brodie has requested a trade to Port Adelaide, while Reidy would like to join Carlton.

Brodie joined Fremantle at the conclusion of the 2021 AFL season via a trade from the Gold Coast SUNS, making his Club debut the following season in Freo’s one-point win over the Crows in Round 1.

The 27-year-old played a total of 29 AFL games in four seasons with Fremantle, along with 45 WAFL games for Peel Thunder.

Reidy was selected from the VFL by Fremantle in the 2022 Rookie Draft, playing three AFL games after making his debut in Round 23 of the 2024 season.

The 25-year-old played 52 league games for Peel Thunder across his three seasons with Fremantle.

Both Brodie and Reidy were part of Peel’s 2024 WAFL Premiership side.

Fremantle Executive General Manager of Football Joe Brierty said the Club will work through these requests.

“We respect the requests from Liam and Will to seek trades in a hope to get more senior opportunities at AFL level,” Brierty said.

“Will is obviously contracted for 2027, so we will work through that during the trade period to facilitate outcomes for both the players and the Club.”

The AFL Trade Period commences on Monday 6 October.
