Fabrizio Romano shares which Premier League club Omar Marmoush is now close to joining

Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked with Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush this month.

TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey recently revealed that Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and have all watched Marmoush on numerous occasions.

Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with Marmoush, while Newcastle United are also said to be keen on the Egypt international.

Needless to say, there are a lot of eyes on Marmoush – but only one team can triumph in pursuit of his services, and it looks like the race is nearly run.

Manchester City now close to signing Omar Marmoush

Fabrizio Romano has taken to X on Saturday morning to confirm that Marmoush is now “close to joining Manchester City” this month.

Romano claimed that verbal discussions between Man City and Eintracht Frankfurt are “progressing fast”

In addition, the Premier League champions are confident of completing a formal agreement next week, while they have also fully agreed personal terms with Marmoush.

Romano reiterated that Man City see him as the “perfect” replacement for Julian Alvarez.

What Marmoush could bring to the Premier League

Raphael Honigstein recently named Marmoush in his list of “players you’ve heard of set for a big 2025”.

The German football expert described the 25-year-old as a “superstar” in the making and said he’d be a “great buy for any team”.

Honigstein said of Marmoush: “He is really dynamic, a wide forward who can play through the middle.

“Some people have compared him to Mohamed Salah, perhaps not as tricky or as explosive but his finishing is incredible.

“He came to Germany aged 18 and for six years we didn’t think he would set the world alight, but this season he explodes and we are now talking about €80million (£67million) for him.

“There is a big move ahead for him. It is very unlikely Frankfurt will keep him and he is going to be a superstar.

“He would be a great buy for any team – there will be a lot of competition for him.”
