Every T20 Cricket fan loves seeing a bowler take a wicket in a key part of a match. Whether it’s during the powerplay or in death overs, taking a wicket is one of the most exciting aspects of watching the sport.Bhuvneshwar Kumar hit his own milestone on Sunday, becoming the second bowler to take 200 IPL wickets. Additionally, he is the first fast bowler to reach that milestone. The other bowler with over 200 career wickets is the Punjab Kings spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal.With this in mind, here are five other bowlers in the IPL who are nearing a major wicket milestone in their careers that should catch the eyes of viewers.Vyshak Vijaykumar Chasing Personal BestFirst up on our list of five bowlers nearing a wicket milestone is Vyshak Vijaykumar of the Punjab Kings. He’s having a great 2026 IPL tournament with five wickets in three matches. His best figures are 3/34.IPL 2026 is Vyshak’s fourth season. With five wickets already in his back pocket, he has eclipsed his past two year’s benchmark of four scalps. Because of this, he is well on his way to having his best wicket-taking season yet.Vyshak’s personal best is nine wickets. However, if he can average at least one wicket per match for the rest of the tournament, he will have the best wicket-taking season of his very young career.Yuzvendra Chahal in Pursuit of 4-Wicket Haul MilestoneYuzvendra Chahal is a shining example of consistency and excellence in the IPL. He has company now at the top, with Bhuvneshwar joining him in the 200-wicket club. Luckily for the career spinner, he is nearing another career milestone.The Punjab Kings spinner is sitting at nine four-wicket hauls over his career, the most of any bowler in the IPL. One more four-wicket performance will put him at 10, and would make him the first bowler to achieve this feat.Krunal Pandya Close to Purple Cap MilestoneRoyal Challengers Bengaluru all-rounder Krunal Pandya is coming off a career-best season in the IPL. In 15 matches, he recorded 17 wickets (a personal best) in addition to knocking 109 runs.Krunal has participated in the IPL for 10 years, this year being his 11th. His 17-wicket performance last tournament was the fifth time he collected at least 10 wickets during a season.Krunal has two wickets to his credit after two matches and sits at 95 career wickets. Five more, and he will become the 29th bowler to hit the accomplishment.Arshdeep Singh Within Striking Distance of Next Wicket MilestoneSpeaking of 100 wickets, there is one more bowler who is close to this same milestone. That is none other than Arshdeep Singh of the Punjab Kings.Arshdeep has collected 97 wickets over his eight-year IPL career. Much like Krunal, he is coming off his career-best season, having hit 21 wickets in 2025. In just 85 matches, Arshdeep already has two four-wicket hauls and a single five-wicket haul from the 2021 season.In three matches this year, Arshdeep has a duck in the wicket department, and will look to change that with PBKS’ next match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday, April 11th.First Chahal, then Bhuvneshwar, Sunil Narine Next?Finally, Sunil Narine is next up on the 200 career wicket milestone list. Sunil currently bowls for the Kolkata Knight Riders.Sunil has the third-most career wickets behind Chahal and Bhuvneshwar with 193. Currently, Sunil has collected one wicket during the 2026 tournament. Unfortunately, he was feeling unwell and was not in the playing XI against the Punjab Kings on April 6th. Luckily for him, the match was abandoned.
