He talked to his family members and also walked briefly at the hospital," club official Tariqul Islam said."We had to go to hospital quickly to save his life, and luckily we did that," Mohammedan physiotherapist Enamul Haque told news agency AFP.According to hospital medical director Razeeb Hasan, Tamim was in critical condition upon arrival and required surgery to insert stents for clearing an artery blockage.The cricket community responded with an outpouring of support following news of Tamim's health emergency."Please pray that my brother Tamim recovers quickly and returns to the game!" wrote longtime teammate Shakib Al Hasan on social media.The heart attack coincided with Shakib's 38th birthday, though he expressed inability to celebrate due to the circumstances."You've faced tough opponents before and come out stronger, this will be no different. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Stay strong," Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh posted on social media.Tamim had an illustrious career representing Bangladesh in 391 matches across different formats from 2007 to 2023, including serving as their one-day captain.His career highlights include scoring over 15,000 runs and being the sole Bangladeshi player to achieve centuries in all three international cricket formats.
