Bryan Mbeumo’s immediate feelings on Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos’ major £50m Man Utd plan, ‘I hear that they…’

New Manchester United summer signing Bryan Mbeumo has offered his two cents about a key project under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Ineos regime at Old Trafford.

Bryan Mbeumo was a top Manchester United target this summer and the Red Devils’ long transfer saga over the 25-year-old French-born attacker finally came to an end.

United signed Mbeumo from Brentford and announced the transfer on Monday after the Bees accepted the Red Devils’ third bid for the Cameroon international.

The Red Devils had submitted two bids for the former Brentford winger in June alone and the Premier League club rejected United’s advances on both occasions.

However, United returned to the table for Mbeumo and the Red Devils agreed an initial transfer fee of £65m for the player, with a further £6m agreed in add-ons.

United’s deal for former Brentford star Mbeumo eclipsed the £62.5m transfer fee that the Red Devils agreed to pay for Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Bryan Mbeumo makes an early mention of a key Man Utd project under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos after arriving from Brentford

Bryan Mbeumo is Manchester United’s third summer signing and has already linked up with his new teammates ahead of the pre-season tour of the United States.

The Cameroon international had been tipped to leave Brentford at the end of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign and Mbeumo’s position was to sign for United.

Mbeumo had attracted interest from Tottenham after the appointment of former Brentford manager Thomas Frank as Ange Postecoglou’s successor at Spurs.

However, the former Tottenham target inked a five-year deal with United earlier this week and is tipped to play a key role for Ruben Amorim in the 2025-26 season.

Mbeumo sat down with United’s club media after he arrived from Brentford and was asked about his ‘first impressions’ of the Carrington training complex.

The United summer signing admitted that he was “really impressed,” but Mbeumo added that he is “looking forward” to seeing the refurbished Carrington facility.

“Yeah. Yeah, really impressed [at Carrington],” Mbeumo said.

“I hear that they are gonna be building a new training ground as well. And, yeah, I’m just looking forward to going in it.”

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos’ revitalisation of Man Utd’s Carrington training complex is almost done

Manchester United’s official website confirmed in June 2024 that a major revamp of the Carrington complex would happen under the Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe regime.

The Red Devils have invested £50m into the project and the vision is to build a ‘world-class football facility,’ including refurbishing all areas of the training complex.

United teamed up with Foster and Partners, which is also working on the new stadium successor to Old Trafford, as part of the project at the Premier League club.

The Red Devils began work on the Carrington complex last summer and the refurbishment has been carried out over the course of the 2024-25 campaign.

Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada recently talked about the Carrington project and hinted that the refurbished facility could open in August.
