Pakistan opener Imam ul Haq was carried off the field after copping a blow on helmet. In the third over of the Pakistan inning, Imam tucked a delivery for a single, however, a throw from the fielder towards the bowler's end hit Imam on head. The left hander looked in some discomfort and immediately fell on the ground. He was later carried off the field in an buggy ambulance. Fans took to social media to express concerns about the Pakistan batter.

Imam copped a blow on head so Pakistan will have option to name a replacement player for Imam. The team has Irfan Khan in the squad who could come in if Pakistan need and Imam is not fit to return.

Meanwhile, New Zealand set a target of 265 runs to win for Pakistan. The match was delayed due to wet outfield which resulted in the game getting curtailed to 42 overs. Debutant Rhys Mariu played a brilliant 58 run innings to give New Zealand a great start. 43 by Daryl Mitchell in the middle and a fiery 59 off 40 in final overs by captain Michael Bracewell helped New Zealand post a formidable total on the board.

Pakistan have already lost the series after losing the first two games. The team suffered a 4-1 defeat in the T20I series as well. The Men in Green named a young squad for the T20Is, however, they were full strength in ODIs and were expected to deliver a solid performance, but the team was a total letdown in the first two games.
