With the T20 World Cup 2026 currently in full swing, the line-up for the Super 8 stage - scheduled to begin later this week - has already started to take shape.From the 20 teams competing in the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup, eight nations - the top two from each of the four groups - will move into the Super 8 stage.Two-time champions West Indies became the first nation to qualify for the T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 with a convincing nine-wicket win against Nepal that assured them a top-two finish in Group C.Defending champions India were the next team to make the cut for the Super 8 stage after a 61-run triumph over arch-rivals Pakistan in Group A.Last year’s runners up, South Africa, have also qualified for the Super 8 from Group D.Two-time winners England were the second team from Group C to enter the Super 8 after beating Italy by 24 runs in their final group match.Co-hosts Sri Lanka were the first team to punch their tickets from Group B after beating former champions Australia and sending them on the brink of elimination.However, the remaining three Super 8 spots are still up for grabs as we head into the business end of the group stage with several teams, including former champions Pakistan, Zimbabwe, USA and New Zealand, still in contention for a berth.T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 qualified teamsThe Super 8 phase for the T20 World Cup 2026 begins on February 21 and will conclude on March 1.Prior to the T20 World Cup 2026, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed eight seeded teams based on the T20I rankings.These teams will be slotted into pre-assigned positions in the Super 8 stage, irrespective of their finishing positions in the group phase.If an unseeded side qualifies at the expense of a seeded team, it will assume the Super 8 position originally allocated to the eliminated seeded team from that group.Australia, India, West Indies and South Africa are the pre-seeded teams for Group 1 of the T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 stage, while New Zealand, Sri Lanka, England and Pakistan are pre-seeded for Group 2.In the Super 8 stage, the eight qualifiers will be split into two groups, with each team playing the other three sides in its group once.The top two teams from each group will then progress to the semi-finals.T20 World Cup 2026 Super 8 schedule
