Louis Saha believes Manchester United are still missing an ‘unplayable’ player after revealing he has concerns over Bruno Fernandes showing signs of fatigue.

Manchester United beat Everton 1-0 on Monday night to climb back into the top four, with a three-point advantage over fifth-placed Chelsea.

It was a hard-fought victory for United on their first-ever trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with Benjamin Sesko scoring the only goal in the 71st-minute after coming on as an impact substitute.

Louis Saha expresses concern over Bruno Fernandes fatigue

Since Bruno Fernandes signed for United in January 2020, the Portugal international has been the star player.

Although the experienced Portuguese star wasn’t at his best against Everton on Monday night, United In Focus hailed Fernandes’ work-rate with a rating of 6/10.

Former United striker Louis Saha claims Fernandes looked tired against Everton. He also stated that they are still missing another ‘unplayable’ player.

Speaking on his latest TikTok video, Saha said: “I’m very impressed with United because they played well and managed to get a foundation together to, I would say, yeah, reduce the amount of dangerous opportunities against them. So it was really good defending.

“I can see confidence when they need it. I can see composure when they need it. I can see speed as well. Still maybe missing an unplayable player, someone that is really hard to predict.

“But yeah, there is like really talented players in Mbeumo, Cunha, Bruno is always the same – maybe a bit tired today, but still managed to put a decent performance to get the result they needed.

“So five wins, one draw. Carrick is doing really well. I think he deserves credit because he made a change, the Sesko introduction scored the goal. So you can see that, you know, football, you know momentum, you know when to do it and with a bit of control that you need in those type of games.

“So really done really well, very impressive. So, yeah, good three points.”

Fernandes played 90 minutes against Everton, touching the ball 70 times and managing a 78% pass success rate.

The club captain made 12 passes into the final third, but he was dribbled past three times.

In terms of Fernandes’ three defensive contributions, two of those were tackles on Everton players, as well as one recovery.

Fernandes will remain in the starting line-up against Crystal Palace on Sunday, which means he has a chance to prove Saha wrong.
