The World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz is currently running on a stunning 16–0 unbeaten run in the 2026 season. But could this be over tonight, can Daniil Medvedev stop the Spanish sensation? The two stars will face off in the Indian Wells Open 2026 men’s singles semifinal on Saturday, March 14 (Sunday in India).

The Spaniard is coming off a 6–3, 6–4 quarterfinal win over Cameron Norrie, a victory that pushed him into his fifth consecutive Indian Wells semifinal.

Alcaraz sealed 6–2, 6–4 victory over Grigor Dimitrov in just 66 minutes in his opening match. In the Round of 32, the top seed faced his toughest challenge so far, battling back after losing the first set to defeat Arthur Rinderknech 6–7(6), 6–3, 6–2 in chilly night conditions. He then defeated Casper Ruud 6–1, 7–6(2) in round of 16.

Meanwhile, Daniil Medvedev arrives in the semifinal with plenty of momentum of his own. The Russian had a complicated journey to Indian Wells due to travel disruptions linked to tensions in the Middle East, being stranded in Dubai after winning the ATP 500 tournament there.

Despite the difficult logistics, Medvedev has been rock solid in California and has yet to drop a set in the tournament. In the quarterfinals, the Russian World No.11 ended Jack Draper’s title defence with a strong 6–1, 7–5 victory in the quarterfinals.

The World No. 11 started his campaign with a comfortable 6–4, 6–2 win over Alejandro Tabilo. He then continued his run by dispatching Sebastian Baez in straight sets in the Round of 32, followed by another straight-sets victory against Alex Michelsen in the Round of 16.

Historically, however, Alcaraz holds the upper hand in this rivalry, leading their head-to-head 6–2 and currently riding a four-match winning streak over Medvedev.
