Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures compared to Man City after huge title boost

The Premier League title race has taken yet another twist, with Arsenal benefitting hugely after their win at Brighton and Manchester City's draw against Nottingham Forest

Arsenal have secured a huge Premier League title boost after beating Brighton while Manchester City dropped points to Nottingham Forest. Bukayo Saka's early strike handed the Gunners another big three points while Pep Guardiola's side drew 2-2 at home to Forest.

Minimal opportunities followed in the remainder of the game, but Arsenal were superb defensively and survived multiple barrages from Brighton. David Raya made several important saves, with Gabriel Magalhaes shining even without his usual centre-back partner.

Mikel Arteta lost William Saliba to injury in the previous game, with Cristhian Mosquera coming into the team. He had a very busy first half after being booked inside just a few minutes with Brighton appeals for a second yellow and potential penalty for a foul by Gabriel Martinelli later waved away.

While Arsenal saw out a professional 1-0 victory, City let their lead slip twice to drop points and allow Arsenal to extend their gap at the top to seven. With all of that being said, football.london has taken a detailed look at the fixtures coming up for the two title rivals.

Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures

Everton (H) - March 14

Bournemouth (H) - April 11

Man City (A) - April 19

Newcastle (H) - April 25

Fulham (H) - May 2/3

Verdict: The FA Cup and Champions League is Arsenal's next focus but they are back in Premier League action just under 10 days later with Everton visiting Emirates Stadium.

Their away from has been spectacular but will be tested against the league leaders. The Carabao Cup final and last international break of the season means Arsenals' next league game is not until mid-April with Bournemouth heading to north London.

The huge clash against Man City is after that with a win currently not needed for Arsenal to remain in control of the title race. Arsenal are then back on home soil with Newcastle United heading south with Fulham later taking on Mikel Arteta's side.

Manchester City's next five Premier League fixtures

West Ham (A) - March 14

Chelsea (A) - April 12

Arsenal (H) - April 19

Burnley (A) - April 26

Everton (A) - May 2/3

Verdict: More slip-ups from City are entirely possible over the coming weeks with a resurgent West Ham United facing them this weekend at London Stadium.

A trip to Chelsea follows that before the match against Arsenal at Etihad Stadium which they will have to win. Guardiola and his players then head to Burnley and Everton over the coming weeks with both teams struggling on home soil as of late and thus six points is a requirement.
