Jessica Pegula vs Jelena Ostapenko prediction

Jessica Pegula had to come from a set down but still came through to beat Donna Vekic in her second-round match. Pegula, who was playing her first match since winning the title in Dubai last month, was not broken on serve in sets two and three as she won 4-6 6-3 6-2 after one hour and 55 minutes.

She now takes on Jelena Ostapenko. The Latvian beat Katie Volynets in straight sets to advance. There were nine breaks of serve in this match, with Volynets serving to take the match into a decider at one stage, but Ostapenko would wrestle back control and edge ahead in the tiebreak to win 6-4 7-6 (5).

The WTA head-to-head between the pair is 2-2, with Ostapenko winning their last match in the autumn of 2023 at the China Open. Pegula has won 14 of her 16 matches so far in 2026 and starts as the clear favourite, but Ostapenko’s aggression could trouble her at points in this match.
