Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim explains why Alejandro Garnacho will be leaving the club during this summer's transfer window.Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has branded Alejandro Garnacho "a really talented boy" but believes that the attacker "wants a different thing with a different leadership".Amorim's decision to leave Garnacho out of the starting XI for the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur angered the Argentina international. The 21-year-old had stern words for Amorim after the match, while his brother and agent also hit out at the Man United head coach, with the relationship between the two parties subsequently breaking down.Amorim informed Garnacho soon after that he was free to leave this summer, and the ex-Atletico Madrid youngster has not travelled on the club's pre-season tour.Chelsea are currently regarded as the firm favourites to sign the forward, although Aston Villa, Tottenham, Napoli, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich have also been credited with an interest this summer.Garnacho will leave Man United this summerAmorim has praised Garnacho's ability but has admitted that his relationship with the forward has broken down."I think Garnacho, you can understand and you can see, he's talented, he's a really talented boy," Amorim told reporters in the United States. "And sometimes things don't work out. You cannot explain specifically what it is."But I have the feeling, I think it's clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership. And I can understand that. So I think it's not a problem."Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have the connection. Other times, you want a new challenge. So, we try to make everything okay to all the parts. To the club, to the coach and to the players. So, it's a natural thing in football."Garnacho has given 'total priority' to ChelseaGarnacho is believed to be determined to secure a move to Chelsea during this summer's transfer window, with the forward said to have given 'total priority' to the 2025 Club World Cup winners.A deal is not close, though, as Chelsea are currently working on the arrival of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, while the two English clubs are seemingly some way apart when it comes to their valuations.Chelsea are not thought to be willing to pay more than £30m for Garnacho, which would be a huge discount on the alleged £70m price tag that was set by Amorim's side at the start of the transfer window.Garnacho has scored 26 goals and registering 22 assists in 144 appearances for Man United, including 11 goals and 10 assists in all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign.Jadon Sancho and Antony are also expected to be high-profile departures for Man United in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
