Rafael Jodar continued his best ever run at an ATP event as he reached his first tour-level semi-final in Marrakesh. He was a set and a break up against Alexandre Muller, before the Frenchman decided to retire. Jodar was leading 6-2 2-0. The young Spaniard reached the third-round of the Miami Open as a qualifier at his most recent event.

He now faces Camilo Ugo Carabelli. The Argentine recovered from a poor start to beat Luca Van Assche. Ugo Carabelli ended the match strongly, winning 0-6 6-3 6-2. This is his first tour-level semi-final of the season, while he retained his Challenger title in Rosario two months ago. He has now won nine of his 13 matches on clay in 2026.

Jodar will be incredibly motivated to reach a first final on the ATP Tour, but Ugo Carabelli is a competitor on clay and will attempt to force the youngster into errors when the rallies are extended.
