Bastoni Pushes To Seal Barça Move Quickly

Alessandro Bastoni is determined to make his dream of signing for FC Barcelona a reality—and as soon as possible.

The 26-year-old defender, who is under contract with Inter Milan until 2028, has become Barça’s top target to strengthen the left center-back position for next season. Although no personal agreement has been finalized yet, the Italian international is open to negotiating and fully willing to move forward with the operation.

Bastoni’s urgency stems from several factors. Following Italy’s World Cup elimination, the defender is going through a difficult period that has also affected his day-to-day situation at Inter. He believes that the sooner talks between the clubs begin, the easier it will be to resolve his future.

The player is willing to do his part to complete the transfer and fulfill his goal of wearing the Blaugrana shirt at Spotify Camp Nou next season. A move to La Liga is seen as an ideal step in his career, and the idea of playing for Barça is particularly motivating for him.

In addition, Bastoni is excited about the possibility of sharing a team with Lamine Yamal, whom he considers one of the future dominant stars of world football.

Meanwhile, Inter could be open to selling a key player this summer to restructure the squad, as several veterans are expected to leave at the end of the season. Bastoni’s sale could provide the financial boost needed for that rebuilding process.

Sources close to the player indicate that now is a good time for Barça to accelerate. If the Catalan club acts quickly, the deal could be completed relatively smoothly.

In the meantime, Barcelona remains focused on the current season, competing for both La Liga and the Champions League. Behind the scenes, sporting director Deco is quietly working on planning the next campaign, where strengthening the attack and signing a left-footed center-back—Bastoni being the priority—are key objectives.

Barcelona values the Italian defender at around €55–60 million and considers him a “controlled” target. However, they still need to reach an agreement with the player before formally negotiating with Inter, who will aim to maximize the transfer fee.
