Crews tackle fire at Luton Town laundry room

Smoke was seen coming from inside Luton's ground

Crews have been tackling a fire in a laundry room at Luton Town Football Club - but the incident will not affect their crunch game at home to Coventry City on Saturday.

Pictures shared on social media appeared to show firefighters faced with black smoke billowing from inside the Kenilworth Road stadium.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called at 20:08 BST and the fire was put out in less than two hours.

Crews remained on the scene and a full road closure was still in place on Hatters Way.
