President’s Trophy Grade-II knockout stage begins today

LAHORE: The knockout stage of the President’s Trophy Grade-II will commence on Monday (today), featuring quarter-final clashes at four venues across Pakistan.

Teams will battle for a spot in the semi-finals, scheduled from May 24 to 26. The final is set to be played between May 28 to 31. The first quarter-final will witness a fierce clash between Kingsmen and MIT Solutions at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, while JDW Sugar Mills will face Railways at the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.

In Lahore, PAF will compete against Wing 999 Sports at Saeed Sports City, whereas Sahir Associates will play Ghani Institute at Rana Naveed Cricket Academy, Sheikhupura. From a total prize pool of PKR 7.75 million, PKR 5 million and 2.5 million await the winners and runners-up, respectively.

Kingsmen and Wing 999 Sports dominated Group A, while JDW Sugar Mills led Group B with 38 points, followed closely by Ghani Institute with 32 points. PAF emerged as the strongest side in Group C with four wins, while MIT Solutions secured the second spot with three victories. In Group D, Sahir Associates and Railways booked their quarter-final berths with four and three wins, respectively. Ateeq Ur Rehman and Umair Masood of PAF lead the run charts with 674 and 664 runs, respectively.

Wing 999 Sports’ Muhammad Tariq Khan has been the tournament’s leading bowler with 41 wickets, including three five-wicket hauls, while Railways’ Asad Ullah and Abdullah Zubair have picked up 28 wickets each.
