Jasmine Paolini vs Cristina Bucsa prediction

Jasmine Paolini was stunned in the opening set of her quarter-final against Katie Boulter, losing 0-6 to the Brit in just 28 minutes, but the world number seven recomposed after that and the tide turned in her favour, the Italian eventually coming through 0-6, 6-3, 6-3,

Cristina Bucsa had lost six consecutive matches before she came to Mexico, but the 28-year-old has found her game in Merida, defeating Donna Vekic, Marina Stakusic and Zeynep Sonmez, all in straight sets.

Bucsa is yet to face a player of Paolini's calibre though. The two-time Grand Slam finalist is unlikely to make such a slow start this time around, given what happened against Boulter, and we expect her to make the final.
