Rinku Singh is set to rejoin the India squad ahead of their clash against Zimbabwe, India's batting coach confirmed at a press conference in Chennai on Wednesday, February 25. He is expected to link up with the team later in the evening, ahead of the Super 8 match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday.Rinku Singh had temporarily left the team camp to attend to a family emergency. Reports suggested that his father, Khanchand Singh, was in critical condition and admitted to a hospital in Greater Noida. The left-hander had travelled to Chennai with the squad on Monday, February 23, following India's Super 8 fixture."Rinku, his father wasn’t well, so he went back. And I think he is coming back this evening. So, hopefully he will be back this evening," said Kotak.Rinku has featured in all five matches for India in the tournament but has managed just 24 runs. The UP batter's return to form could not have come at a better time as India look to bounce back from their Super 8 defeat to South Africa in Ahmedabad. However, Rinku did not bat during the team's four-hour training session in Chennai on the eve of the Zimbabwe clash, raising doubts over his place in the playing XI.INDIA TO STICK TO BRAND OF CRICKETDespite the loss to South Africa, Kotak said that India will be sticking to their brand of cricket and won't be looking to change it for the rest of the T20 World Cup."Definitely we will play the same brand of cricket. Sometimes you lose a couple of wickets and shot selection or risk percentage may be wrong. But that’s about it. Otherwise, in the T20 game, we have to be very positive and play the same brand of cricket which has given us success. That will continue," said Kotak.India will need to win their remaining two matches in the group to maintain their chances of making it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup.- Ends
