Shubman Gill's Shock Move Against PBKS Leaves Google CEO Sundar Pichai In Disbelief (Source: AP/IPL)Gujarat Titans (GT) started the IPL 2025 campaign with an 11-run defeat to Punjab Kings (PBKS). Shreyas Iyer's brutal 97 not out in 42 balls and Shashank SIngh's fiery innings of unbeaten 44 in 16 balls helped PBKS post a mammoth score of 243-5. GT's fightback was led by Sai Sudarsan who scored 74, while Jos Buttler made 54, but the knocks were not enough as GT fell agonisingly 11 runs short of a historic win.Meanwhile, GT captain Shubman Gill made a shocking call and did not include Washington Sundar in the playing XI. Sundar with his all-round abilities is an asset for any team, however, he failed to find a place in the XI, leaving many baffled. A fan questioned the move on X and asked how Sundar can make it to the Indian squad, but struggle to make a cut to the IPL XI.“How Sundar sneaks into the best 15 of India but doesn't get a place in any IPL XI when 10 teams exist is a mystery,” cricket fan Pushkar posted on the social media platform X.The post got a reply from Google CEO Sundar Pichai who wrote, “I have been wondering this too."The fan was amused after getting the reply from Pichai and tried his luck by asking for a job at Google. "Sir, give me a job in Google now that you have replied,” he wrote.Shubman Gill Rues Missed ChancesMeanwhile, the GT captain reflected on the defeat and said the three overs where GT scored a mere 18 runs cost GT the game. Notably, GT were cruising to a win after the 14th over at 169-2, however, impact player V Vyshak changed the game in favour of PBKS. GT only scored 18 runs from overs 15 to 18, which got their chase off the track."I think we got our chances when we were bowling and batting. Too many runs were given away. We let ourselves down on the field as well. Those three overs in the middle when we scored 18 runs, that and the first three overs we didn't score too many runs. That costed us the game. Many positives as well. Good start to the tournament I guess. (on Vyshak) Never easy for someone to come in as an Impact player and bowl those yorkers when you have been on the bench for 15 overs. Credit to them for bowling yorkers on the trot. I mean it is always a good batting wicket here to bat on. You might score 240-250, but you have to restrict the opposition as well," said Gill.
