Kobbie Mainoo sends ominous warning to Man Utd's rivals after great weekend for Red Devils fans

Manchester United took a major step towards Champions League qualification, and plan to complete the job.

After playing a key role in Manchester United’s win over Aston Villa, Kobbie Mainoo says the Red Devils have no plans to ease up.

A draw would have still been good enough to retain third place on goal difference. United wanted more, and fully deserved the 3-1 victory.

Goals from Casemiro, Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko lifted United to the win – moving a full three points ahead of Villa, while extending the goal difference advantage too.

Kobbie Mainoo’s message

Kobbie Mainoo played all 90 minutes in Manchester United’s win over Villa, and was in high spirits after the three points.

Mainoo posted to Instagram: “Yh we ain’t finished”, a simple message showing that United are not going to ease up.

United have eight games left to secure Champions League football for 2026/27, returning to the competition for the first time since the group stage exit under Erik ten Hag in 2023/24.

Mainoo missed Villa defeat

Kobbie Mainoo missed Manchester United’s defeat to Aston Villa in December, picking up an injury ahead of the game.

It came at a time when he was desperate for opportunities, and a mid-game injury to Bruno Fernandes would have provided one.

The misfortune summed up Mainoo’s troubles under Ruben Amorim. He did not start a single league game under him in 2025/26.

Amorim’s sacking gave Mainoo a fresh start, and he has fully taken advantage of his chance to play a role in a simplified tactical system.
