Heartland, Imo SWAN hail Mejuobi's emergence as Nigeria Referees Acting President

Heartland FC and Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Imo Chapter have extended their warm congratulations to Sir Kelechi Mejuobi on his emergence as the Acting President of the Nigeria Football Referees Association (NFRA).

Heartland FC in a press statement signed by the club’s Technical Manager, Emmanuel Amuneke, the Owerri club said Mejuobi’s elevation is not only timely but well-earned, given his vast experience and dedication to the development of refereeing in Nigeria.

“At a crucial period for the game, Heartland FC believes his leadership will inspire renewed confidence, enhance officiating standards, and deepen collaboration with stakeholders across all leagues,” Amuneke said to Heartland FC Media.

“We are particularly encouraged by his commitment to continuity, professionalism, and the advancement of referees, which are vital to the growth and integrity of football in the country.

“Heartland FC wishes him wisdom, strength, and success in this new responsibility.”

Also the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Imo State Chapter, has heartily congratulated Sir Kelechi Mejuobi on his well-deserved elevation to the position of Acting President of the Nigeria Football Referees Association (NFRA).

The Association in a press statement signed by the Secretary, Tunde Liadi said “This appointment, coming on the heels of his meritorious service as Deputy President, is a testament to his wealth of experience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the growth of refereeing and football administration in Nigeria.”

SWAN, Imo under the leadership of Cosmos Chukwuemeka is confident that his leadership will sustain and strengthen the reform-driven “Rediscover NFRA Agenda,” while fostering unity, transparency, and excellence within the refereeing body.

“The Association also uses this moment to honour the legacy of the late Hon. Sani Zubairu, the immediate past President who died recently and whose contributions to Nigerian refereeing remain indelible.”
