OXFORD, Miss. -- Dylan Stewart arrived to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium as a game time decision. The sophomore defensive end was listed as questionable on the SEC availability report on Friday night, about 24 hours before South Carolina played at Ole Miss. It was unrelated to the hip injury he suffered during the Oklahoma game, coach Shane Beamer confirmed after the 30-14 loss in Oxford."I was really proud of Dylan. He had a little upper body injury that he aggravated (on Friday), I guess. He truly was a game time decision and proud of him and the way that he battled it out (on Saturday) because he certainly did not feel good," Beamer said. "He certainly was not 100 percent, so really, really proud of Dylan Stewart. Him not feeling great tonight but gutting it out and trying to find a way to help us win a football game."Stewart was on the field for 33 snaps against the Rebels. He was credited with two solo tackles, including one for loss."That's him. That's a fighter right there," Nyck Harbor said. "He's going to keep – in football, you're going to play through injuries. If you can go, you've got to go. … If you're nicked up a little bit, you've got to go out there. It's a long season. I think we're all nicked up. But you play through it."For the season, Stewart has 30 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He recorded 23 tackles and 6.5 sacks as a freshman in 2024."He's a tough player. He's going to play," Jalon Kilgore said. "He went out there and did his job, even with an injury. We've all got injuries. It's football. We've just got to drop our nuts and go out there and play."
