Rafael Nadal’s playing career came to an end last November, but the former No. 1 in the PIF ATP Rankings will still make an appearance at Roland Garros next month.

The 38-year-old, who lifted the Coupe des Mousquetaires a record 14 times, will be honoured by the French Tennis Federation (FFT) in celebration of his dominance at Roland Garros.

The ceremony will occur on the opening day of the tournament — Sunday, 25 May — on Court Philippe-Chatrier, following the conclusion of the day session’s three matches.

In addition, an exhibition paying tribute to Nadal’s victories will also be on display for the duration of the clay-court major.

The event also paid tribute to the Spaniard in 2021, when his statue was unveiled at Stade Roland Garros in honour of his remarkable record on the Parisian clay.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion won his first Roland Garros title on tournament debut in 2005. He earned a staggering 112-4 record at the tournament and defeated Casper Ruud to win his final title in 2022. Nadal's last appearance in Paris came last year, when he lost to Alexander Zverev in the opening round.
