Daryl Mitchell won't be travelling to Napier for the second One-Day International against West Indies after suffering discomfort in his thigh during Sunday's encounter. He will instead undergo scans on his left groin in Christchurch, which will likely determine his availability for the rest of the series, New Zealand Cricket stated in a release.

Mitchell experienced discomfort in his thigh while scoring his seventh ODI century in New Zealand's seven-run win over West Indies at Hagley Oval and did not return to the field for the second innings.

Henry Nicholls has been recalled to the squad as cover, and will assemble with the squad in Napier on Monday. Nicholls' last ODI appearance came in April this year. The batter has led the domestic run-scoring charts in Ford Trophy with 306 runs at 76.50, including back-to-back centuries (117* and 138*) in rounds one and three against Otago and Auckland.
