The Western Michigan men's tennis team made its first road trip in Mid-American Conference Play, falling at UIC last Thursday and winning at Northern Illinois on Saturday.The Flames took the doubles point after wins at No. 1 and No. 2. WMU's pairing ofandpicked up an early 6-4 win at No. 3 to put the pressure on UIC, but shortly after Pedro Franca and Eldin Nokic defeatedand, 6-4, at No. 1. Artem Alekseychuk and Milos Mikovic secured the point for the Flames with a 6-4 win at No. 3 overandArzhankin tied the match up at 1-1 after quickly defeating Alekseychuk 6-2, 6-0. UIC pushed ahead 2-1 with Mihailo Savic defeating Corwin 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4 and then pushed the lead to 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-4 win by Emil Dapcevic overat No. 6. The Flames clinched the match victory after Simon Knezevic beat Davison 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5. WMU's second point came from Adesoro winning 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2 over Nokic.The Broncos (12-8, 2-2 MAC) rebounded on Saturday with the win over the Huskies. WMU took the doubles point with a win at No. 1 by Pierce and Evans, 6-4, over Iker Arrastia and Federico Scotuzzi. The point was clinched with Arzhankin and Antonopoulos winning 6-2 at No. 2 over Saul Berdullas and Sam Klein.WMU rolled in singles play with Corwin first off the court with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Pratyaksh LNU at No. 4. Pierce made it 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Scottuzi at No. 3 and Adesoro clinched the match with a 7-6 (7-1), 7-5 win over Berdullas. NIU's lone point came at No. 1, with Arzhankin having to retire after being up in the third set due to an injury.picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 over Angus Howard to make it 5-1, with Antonopoulos defeating Iker Velasco 6-4, 7-5 to end the match.The Broncos are back at home next Saturday to host Ball State at 1 p.m.
