Elliot Anderson makes transfer admission amid Man United interest

Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson is on Manchester United's radar ahead of their midfield rebuild.

Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson insists he is only focusing on this season amid Manchester United transfer links. The Reds will overhaul their midfield in the summer as Casemiro departs at the end of his contract. Anderson made his England debut this campaign and is among the names on United's radar.

Brighton's Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace's Adam Wharton have also been linked with the Reds. While a move to Old Trafford could be on the horizon, Anderson insists he is not thinking about the future. "I'm just focusing on my football at the moment and performing and trying to give everything for Nottingham Forest," he said.

"That's all that's on my mind. It's been a big two years (at Forest). I think I've done pretty well, to be honest, in the time I've been here. I’ve matured on and off the pitch. It’s thanks to the club for giving me that platform to go out there and play and let me do my stuff."

Forest head coach Vitor Pereira was only appointed last week but when he was asked about the futures of Anderson and Morgan Gibbs-White, who has also been linked to United, the former Wolverhampton Wanderers boss claimed he was not aware of interest in the duo. "I’m not hearing this," Pereira responded.

"Every day is work. I feel they are very committed to our target, which is the most important thing. He (Gibbs-White) is a top player, a captain, a top player with spirit.

"Elliot is the same - a top player with spirit. That’s why I accepted the job, because I have very good players.

"We need to prove - every day with our work and on the pitch - we don’t just have talent in the team but we can also create a strong team together."

United will host Forest in the final home game of the season in May.
