Arsenal are looking set for a rebuild in the transfer window with the likes of Kieran Tierney, Jorginho and Thomas Partey all out of contract at the end of the season. The future is also unclear for a number of first-team stars, such as Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu, while Neto and Raheem Sterling will see their loan deals come to an end.

With Partey and Jorginho currently set to leave the club, the midfield is certainly in need of some fresh blood, and Arsenal look to have addressed that need by coming to a 'verbal agreement' with Martin Zubimendi over moving to north London this summer.

football.london understands that Arsenal have been confident in a getting the deal done for some time with other deals worked on under the expectation he would be joining. And he is unlikely to be the only one coming through the doors over the next few months.

football.london also understand that the club want at least one forward, as well as a back-up keeper, a defender and there is hope for a wide player too.

With so many positions looking to be addressed, a vast number of names have been linked to the club. Zubimendi is set to be the midfielder joining the side, but what about players in attack?

Alexander Isak is one man who has been consistently linked with a move to Arsenal. The Gunners are known to be interested but the cost of any deal could be prohibitive. Elsewhere, there have been links to Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko among others.

There's also Nico Williams. Arsenal have been interested for some time, and while a No.9 looks to be the priority this summer, another wide attacker is on the agenda, with the Athletic Club star certainly on the shortlist. And when it comes to a back-up goalkeeper, Joan Garcia looks to be the name in the frame.

So what would Arsenal's first-choice XI look like if they were to sign these stars? Well, football.london takes a stab at naming that team below...

In goal, David Raya starts. While Garcia's addition will provide valuable competition for the former Brentford star, he will retain his place.

In defence, there are some interesting options. William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are undoubted first choice at centre-back, but at full-back there are a couple of big decisions to be made. It's become pretty clear this season that Jurrien Timber is the first-choice at right-back, so he should continue there.

At left-back, Myles Lewis-Skelly has also really laid down a marker this season with a number of injuries giving him an extended run in the team. But his long-term future looks to be in midfield, so it would make sense that Riccardo Calafiori starts in defence.

In midfield, should Partey leave then Zubimendi will take his place. And then it's a fairly simple decision to play him alongside Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, despite the captain's struggles of late.

In attack, the only certainty is that Bukayo Saka starts on the right flank. Realistically, any No.9 who arrives will be starting in place of Kai Havertz; the first choice would be Isak, so we'll say he starts. And then if Williams arrives, he will be battling against Gabriel Martinelli for a starting spot - and you would imagine he would win.

Best Arsenal XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Williams, Isak.
