Gary Neville shares what his big ‘worry’ is with Manchester United right now

Gary Neville is in a state of worry after Manchester United drew with Nottingham Forest, even though the team increased their unbeaten run to four matches.

Manchester United drew 2-2 against Nottingham Forest last weekend. It was a reality check as Ruben Amorim’s team remains a work in progress after winning three consecutive Premier League matches.

United took the lead in the first half through Casemiro, but conceded twice in the first five minutes of the second half. This made for a cagey evening at the City Ground, but Amad Diallo scored a crucial equaliser in the 81st minute to secure a point for the Red Devils.

Amorim was pleased with the team’s mentality, marking it as an improvement from previous months, especially after a slow start to the 2025/26 campaign.

Many pundits have expressed their views on United’s latest result, but it caused concern for one former club captain.

United are sitting in eighth place as things stand, with 17 points, but they’re just two points behind rivals Man City in second.

However, former United right-back turned pundit Gary Neville has expressed concern at how the Red Devils could go either way this season – because a couple of bad results could see them quickly slip further down the table.

Speaking on The Overlap Cricket, Neville admitted he is worried about United right now.

“My worry is look, where they are at the moment they’re on that sort of edge, it can go to like sixth or it can go to 15th quite quickly you know because of the stage of the season we’re in and I don’t and I don’t think we can be in 13th, 14th, 15th, in November I think that would be a problem.”

United travel to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday and will be hoping to not only stretch their unbeaten run, but also get back to winning ways.

Ruben Amorim’s poor record against Tottenham

Amorim has faced Tottenham three times since becoming United’s head coach.

The Red Devils lost all three matches, including the 2024 Europa League final in Bilbao.

Amorim also took on Tottenham twice as Sporting CP manager, winning the first game 2-0 and drawing the second 1-1.
