Following a disappointing early exit from the Champions Trophy, Pakistan lost the three-match series 2-0, resulting in further disciplinary action from the International Cricket Council (ICC).Pakistan’s cricket team, captained by Mohammad Rizwan, received a five percent match fee fine for a slow over-rate during their second One Day International against New Zealand in Hamilton. The penalty was imposed due to the team falling one over short of the required rate, even after accounting for allotted time allowances. This breach falls under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which mandates a five percent fine for each over short of the minimum over-rate target.Match referee Jeff Crowe, from the Emirates ICC Elite Panel, penalized Mohammad Rizwan for breaching the ICC Code of Conduct. The infraction was reported by umpires Michael Gough, Wayne Knights, Paul Reiffel, and Chris Brown. Rizwan admitted guilt and accepted the penalty, avoiding a formal hearing.Pakistan received a second consecutive penalty for slow over-rates. This follows a similar penalty in the series opener, a match they lost by 73 runs due to falling two overs short of their target even after accounting for time allowances. The third and final match of the series is scheduled for Saturday in Mount Maunganui. Led by new captain Salman Agha and missing key players like Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan had previously suffered a 1-4 defeat in the five-match T20I series against the Black Caps earlier in the tour. For breaking news and live news updates, like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and Instagram.
