R Ashwin had a terrific outing in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh and helped India seal the series 2-0. He delivered a Man of the Match performance in the first Test and scored a brilliant hundred before taking six wickets in the second innings. The hundred was Ashwin's sixth century and it came at a time when India needed him the most. India were tottering at 144-6 when Ashwin came to the team's rescue. In the second Test, Ashwin picked two wickets in the first innings before spelling magic in the second innings, accounting for three wickets and helping India bowl out Bangladesh for a paltry 146 before Lunch on Day 5.

This was a historical achievement for the ace all-rounder as he joined Muttiah Muralitharan in the list of most Player of the Series awards in Tests. Both Ashwin and Murali have 11 Player of the Series awards in Test cricket, but Ashwin reached the milestone quicker than Murali. Ashwin became the first player to reach the figure of 11 Player of the Series awards in less than 50 Test series. He took 42 series to claim the record. Meanwhile, Ashwin had an opportunity to become the leading wicket-taker in the WTC, however, he couldn't reach the milestone against Bangladesh. Ashwin needed six wickets in the final innings to break Nathan Lyon's record but he could only pick three wickets. He now has 185 wickets to his name.

India vs Bangladesh 2nd Test Highlights

The second Test was headed for a tame draw when Day 2 and 3 were washed out due to rain, however, India came out all guns blazing on Day 4. They bowled out Bangladesh for 233 before scoring 285-9 in just 34.4 overs in the first innings. Bangladesh succumbed to pressure and were bowled out for 146 in the second innings, setting a target of just 95 runs to win, which India chased without breaking a sweat.
