Asia Cup 2025 In Danger After India, Sri Lanka Take BIG Decision: Report Photo : APThe Asia Cup 2025 has been in limbo ever since the dastardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which strained relations between India and Pakistan. This was further deepened after Operation Sindoor, and the subsequent unprovoked retaliation by Pakistan. There were reports that India, who are the official hosts of the tournament, have refused to take part in the continental tournament since the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), the official organizers, is being headed by PAK interior minister Mohsin Naqvi. While there have been certain rumours that the tournament is back on track with India and Pakistan being placed in the same group, it appears that the Asia Cup is back in the doldrums after a big decision by India and Sri Lanka.According to a report by Telecom Asia Sport, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have refused to attend the ACC meeting that is scheduled to be held in Dhaka on July 24 (Thursday), where the Asia Cup 2025 is on the agenda. This is because of the tense political situation in Bangladesh at the moment. India have already delayed their white-ball tour to Bangladesh in August for this reason. The meeting, however, is likely to go ahead even if India and Sri Lanka do not participate in it."We have given a 15-day period so that all the member countries can make their arrangements. If any member doesn't want to come to Dhaka, there are arrangements for online attendance, but the meeting will be held in Dhaka," a senior official of the ACC told Telecom Asia Sport.India Likely To Request Venue ChangeIndia are the official host for the Asia Cup 2025. However, the Telecom Asia Sport report, states that they are likely to ask the ACC for a change in venue after Pakistan and India agreed not to travel to each other's countries. The ACC has also written to the BCCI over whether they would like to change venues. However, the apex Indian cricketing body has not yet given any response.
