The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has revealed the procedures for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Morocco 2026 Final Draw, which will take place on Thursday, 15 January at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat.The Final Draw will include 16 national teams, a record number of participants for the TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON, and will be live on CAF TV from 14h00 local time (13h00 GMT / 15h00 Cairo time).The finalistsThe teams that have qualified for the TotalEnergies CAF WAFCON Morocco 2026 are:Morocco (hosts), Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia.Competition FormatThe 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four teams (Groups A, B, C and D).At the end of the group stage, the top two teams in each pool will qualify for the knockout stage, which includes the Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, Third-Place Play-Off, Final and the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027 Qualifying Play-Offs.The PotsIn accordance with the FIFA Women’s World Ranking of 11 December 2025, the 16 teams are divided into four levels:Pot 1• Morocco (host country) – positioned in A1• Nigeria (title holders) – positioned in C1• South Africa• GhanaPot 2• Zambia• Cameroon• Côte d’Ivoire• AlgeriaPot 3• Senegal• Mali• Egypt• Burkina FasoPot 4• Cape Verde• Tanzania• Kenya• MalawiProcedure of the drawThe draw will take place according to the following principles:• Morocco is automatically placed in position A1 as the host country.• Nigeria is automatically placed in position C1 as the title holders.The rest of the draw will follow this order:Pot 4The teams will be drawn and placed successively in positions A4, B4, C4 and D4.Pot 3The teams will be drawn and placed successively in positions A3, B3, C3 and D3.Pot 2The teams will be drawn and placed successively in positions A2, B2, C2 and D2.Pot 1The two teams not yet positioned will be drawn and placed successively in positions B1 and D1.For more information on the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026, please visit www.cafonline.com
