After the suspension of IPL 2025 due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, star cricketer Virat Kohli has shared a powerful message on social media. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter took to his official social media handles to extend his support to the Indian armed forces amid the ongoing conflict.

Kohli supports Indian security forces amid Indo-Pak tensions

Taking to his Instagram story, Kohli wrote, “We stand in solidarity with, and salute our armed forces for fiercely protecting our country in these difficult times.” He added that the nation is “forever indebted” to the soldiers for their bravery and sacrifice.

Kohli also expressed deep respect and gratitude for the families of the soldiers. “Heartfelt gratitude for the sacrifices they and their families make for our great nation,” he said, ending the message with “Jai Hind” and Indian flag emojis.

His message came after the ongoing IPL 2025 was suspended following the abandonment of the Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals match in Dharamsala on Thursday. With nearby airports shut down and security concerns rising, players and support staff were taken to Delhi via a special train arranged by the BCCI.

The BCCI has issued a statement saying that the tournament has been suspended for one week and new schedule and venues will be announced soon. The decision was made by the IPL Governing Council after detailed discussions with all key stakeholders.

“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to suspend the remainder of the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 with immediate effect for one week. Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders,” the BCCI statement read.
