2024 number one pick Ash Centra adds another year to her contract, seeing her a Pie until the end of 2027.

Collingwood’s 2024 number one draft selection Ash Centra has put pen to paper committing to a one-year contract extension with the Club.

Whilst already contracted for this and next year, a further one-year deal will see the 18-year-old remain a Magpie until at least the end of 2027.

Formerly playing for the Gippsland Power in the Coates Talent League Girls competition, the basketballer-turned-footballer ended an impressive 2024 season averaging 27.1 disposals, 4.3 marks, 4.2 clearances, 4.1 tackles, and kicked 18 goals.

The Seaspray local is a two-time All-Australian at the under-18 level and received Victoria Country’s MVP as a bottom-ager at the 2023 Marsh AFL National Championships.

The promising young talent was crowned the 2024 Coates Talent League Best and Fairest winner this past September. Polling 25 votes, she became the first Gippsland Power player to do so.

Executive General Manager of Women’s Football Jess Burger said she was thrilled with Centra’s commitment to the Club.

“We are thrilled as a Club to demonstrate our commitment to Ash’s future and for the vote of confidence in our Club and the program to be reciprocated with this extension” Burger said.

“Although only just having commenced her elite football journey at Collingwood, Ash’s decision to extend her contract speaks volumes to her enthusiasm and trust to develop her football craft within our program.

“We are excited for her to play her role within the team and look forward to progressing her as a Collingwood AFLW person on and off the field.”
