Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite has responded to the transfer interest from Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham.

Following a breakthrough season in 2023/24, Branthwaite has been a target for several top Premier League sides.

United attempted to sign the centre-back last summer but saw two bids, the latter worth £50million, rejected as Everton held firm to their £70m valuation.

The Red Devils have kept tabs on the 23-year-old, while Spurs and Chelsea entered the transfer race in the last few months after Branthwaite’s strong end to the season under David Moyes.

It was recently reported that the one-cap England international would only consider leaving Merseyside for a Champions League club, handing the advantage to the London sides.

Any deal would be expensive as he still has two years left on his current contract, with the option for a further year.

Branthwaite has also been considering a move after being snubbed by Thomas Tuchel in his first two England squads, as a transfer could boost his chances of playing at the 2026 World Cup.

However, Sky Sports now claim that Branthwaite is now committing to Everton for the upcoming season and is close to finalising a new contract with the Toffees.

It is said that while the interest from rival clubs was ‘serious’, the defender could put pen to paper as early as next week with just ‘some final elements to be agreed’.

While a blow for Chelsea, their interest may well have cooled after they recently signed centre-back Mamadou Sarr from affiliate club Strasbourg, with Enzo Maresca now focusing on improving his attack.

The Blues are desperate for a left-winger and have already agreed personal terms with Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

United meanwhile have also prioritised attacking transfers, signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves and they appear to be closing in on Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford too.
