The Jumbos showed resilience in both singles and doubles play, clinching the match with a crucial three-set win from junior Lucy Mitchell .The match opened with a hard-fought doubles session. Tufts struck first at the No. 2 position, where Melanie Woodbury and Rachel Cranley delivered a commanding 6-2 win over Ellie Hughes and Olivia Kim. Trinity responded at No. 1 doubles, as Rosabella Andrade and Trinity Levy knocked off Stephanie Woodbury and Natalie Hu , also by a 6-2 score. With the doubles point hanging in the balance, the Tufts duo of Athena Li and Brooklyn Bindas stepped up at No. 3, defeating Ruth Hill and Lauren Tin 6-3 to give the Jumbos an early 1-0 lead.Trinity quickly swung momentum in singles, with Ruth Hill defeating Tufts' top player, Melanie Woodbury , 6-2, 6-1. However, Cranley delivered a key response at No. 3, battling through a tense first-set tiebreak before dominating the second set for a 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 win.With the match tied 2-2, Trinity's Levy edged out Athena Li in a back-and-forth 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 battle at No. 5, briefly putting the Tigers ahead. But Tufts refused to back down, as Gershaw mounted a comeback at No. 2, taking down Kim 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 to even the score once again.The decisive match came at No. 4 singles, where Mitchell dropped a tight first-set tiebreak but rallied in impressive fashion to defeat Lucy Nabedrick 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-1, clinching the 4-3 win for the Jumbos.With the victory, Tufts improves to 10-1 on the season, adding another statement win to its resume.
