IPL 2025: Venues for playoffs and final announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday, May 20 announced the new venues for the final and playoffs of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Notably, BCCI suspended IPL 2025 on May 9 due border tensions between India and Pakistan.

IPL 2025 observed 57 games before its suspension. Later, the tournament was resumed on May 17 with a revised schedule for the rest games. BCCI did not reveal the venues for playoffs and the final in the revised schedule. They informed that the venues for the playoffs and final will be decided and announced later.

In the original schedule, the venue for the Eliminator and Qualifier 1 match was Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Eden Gardens in Kolkata was the venue for Qualifier 2 and IPL 2025 final. However, the venues of these four matches have been changed by the BCCI in the updated schedule.

Narendra Modi Stadium to host IPL 2025 final

Now, the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator games will take place at the New Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mullanpur. The Qualifier 2 and the final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Notably, the tournament was scheduled to conclude on May 25 in the original schedule. However, the tournament will now end on June 3 after the resumption. The Qualifier 1 match will be played on May 29, while the Eliminator will be played on May 30. The Qualifier 2 will take place on June 1. The IPL 2025 will end with the final on June 3.

Meanwhile, three teams have qualified for IPL 2025 playoffs. Gujarat Titans (GT), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have made it into the playoffs. Either Delhi Capitals (DC) or Mumbai Indians (MI) will be the fourth team to make it to the playoffs of the tournament.

Moreover, Rajasthan Royals (RR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have been eliminated from the playoffs race.
