Official Statement: passing of Santiago Aguado

Real Madrid C. F., its president, Florentino Pérez, and its Board of Directors deeply regret the passing of Santiago Aguado, a member of the Board of Directors of our club. They also extend their condolences to his wife, Beatriz Martínez de Medinilla Moro, his children, Marta, Rocío, Santiago, Enrique, and Belén, and to his family and loved ones.

Santiago Aguado was a member of Real Madrid for seven decades, since 1957, and served on the Boards of Directors presided over by Florentino Pérez from July 12, 2004, to July 2, 2006, and from June 1, 2009, to the present.

He always demonstrated his commitment to the Real Madrid Foundation, of which he was a trustee from September 9, 2004, to July 2, 2006, and from November 4, 2009, to today.

During the time Santiago Aguado was a member of the Board of Directors of Real Madrid, our club achieved 59 titles, including 6 European Cups in football and 3 European Cups in basketball.

Santiago Aguado was at all times an example of loyalty, commitment, and passion for Real Madrid. His passing is a great loss for Real Madrid and for all madridistas. He passed away at the age of 89. Rest in peace.
