With Joao Pedro now confirmed as Chelsea's fourth summer signing, focus is now surely on sanctioning some exits in the ongoing transfer window. The Brazil international has joined Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr in having moves confirmed with a Jamie Gittens announcement also on the horizon.

That is close to £200million committed and even though the Blues may be in a strong financial position, made even more powerful by the new accounting year starting in July, some exits will be required to balance out that spending.

Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku are the most likely players to raise significant funds from exits but Noni Madueke and Djorde Petrovic are others potentially for sale at a decent price. If several departures are sanctioned, attention could then turn onto new signings with West Ham's Mohammed Kudus a target.

With all of that being said, football.london has provided a fresh perspective on the latest Chelsea transfer news and rumours.

Madueke swap deal chance

David Ornstein has revealed during The Athletic podcast that Chelsea may try to negotiate a swap deal with Arsenal for Noni Madueke.

“I think a lot appeals to Arsenal about his [Madueke's] profile, he can play on both sides, known to many of the Arsenal players, London-based and Chelsea are not adverse to conversations about trading, that goes for pretty much any of their players, you could say.

"Conversations more on the player side at this point, nothing club to club at the moment. It’s a fluid conversation at the moment - Madueke will have a say in it also, does every party want to make this happen?"

football.london says: Depending on the players Arsenal may be open to letting join Chelsea, this could be a great move for both parties.

The club's valuation of Madueke is quite significant and thus it seems unlikely it will be met by any interested parties. However, signing someone like Gabriel Martinelli in a direct swap or a defender with Premier League experience such as Jakub Kiwior, alongside some cash, could actually be more likely.

The two London clubs have negotiated multiple deals in recent years and thus will likely be an open line of communication to discuss terms for what would be quite a stunning swap deal. However, at this time, Madueke is just one of many names on Arsenal's wide forward shortlist.

Petrovic 'contact' made

Chelsea could be receiving a significant amount of funds from the sale of Djordje Petrovic, with multiple clubs interested. The Serbia international was excellent while on loan at Strasbourg and despite hopes of a bidding war, The Athletic have claimed there is a gentleman's agreement between Chelsea and the goalkeeper that allows him to leave for £25million.

The Guardian are now reporting that Premier League newcomers Sunderland have contacted Chelsea regarding Petrovic but that a deal is not at an advanced stage.

football.london says: Based on what happened during the 2024/25 season, Petrovic is arguably the best goalkeeper on Chelsea's books and thus they will likely want to avoid selling him to a Premier League club.

However, Sunderland could actually be the best option with Bournemouth and Aston Villa, two direct rivals for the Blues, as the other clubs interested. It is a shame that Petrovic does not want to remain at Stamford Bridge but it is not hard to see why he wants to leave.

However, any potential exit could see interest reignited in AC Milan's Mike Maignan or a different shot-stopper pursued.
