Celtic get chance for Hampden revenge against St Mirren as Falkirk and Dunfermline face off in Scottish Cup blockbuster

Celtic will get the chance to avenge their Premier Sports Cup final defeat to St Mirren at Hampden in December after drawing the Buddies in the last four of the Scottish Cup.

Martin O'Neill's team booked their place in the semi finals with a penalty shootout victory over Old Firm rivals Rangers on Sunday - although the game has been overshadowed by the shocking scenes on the pitch after the full-time whistle.

Saints are without a win in their last five league matches but famously downed the Hoops 3-1 at the national stadium last year to claim their first piece of silverware in 13 years.

They secured passage into the last four with a 2-1 win against Partick Thistle on Sunday night, thanks to goals Dan Nlundulu and Jake Young.

And our other semi final is equally as tasty, with heated rivals Dunfermline and Falkirk squaring off in a local rivalry.

Pars earned their place in the hat by thrashing last year's cup winners Aberdeen 3-0, with January signing Olly Thomas scoring his first two goals in professional football.

After knocking out Premiership league leaders Hearts in the last round, Falkirk reached the last four with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Dundee United as their season under John McGlynn continues to show no signs of slowing down.

The semi final ties will take place over the weekend of April 18 and 19.
