Manchester United are set to complete the signing of Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United are reportedly chasing another signing just days after reaching an agreement to land Bryan Mbeumo. The winger is due to undergo a medical at Old Trafford this weekend ahead of his permanent switch from Brentford. It will see United pay a transfer fee of around £71million, consisting of a guaranteed £65m with another £6m in potential add-ons. The move has been in the making for weeks, with United initially seeing a number of bids turned down. They eventually succeeded at the third time of asking and will be hoping to wrap things up as quickly as possible. The transfer fee will reportedly be paid in four instalments, leaving the Red Devils with room in their budget for more business. Article continues below ADVERTISEMENT

They have wasted no time in chasing their next potential signing, with Foot Mercato reporting that Randal Kolo Muani has been identified as a 'priority target'. United are said to be keen on recruiting a new forward to lead the line for them next season. They are in desperate need of more firepower, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee only managing seven league goals between them in 2024/25. Those in power at Old Trafford believe Kolo Muani has the 'ideal profile' to score plenty of goals in the Premier League. United are not the only club in the race to sign the Frenchman, though, with Newcastle also believed to be interested. United have reportedly identified Randal Kolo Muani as their next target

In fact, the Magpies are said to have already reached out to PSG as they weigh up the prospect of submitting a formal bid. They could move for Kolo Muani as a replacement for Alexander Isak, with Liverpool eager to land the Swedish striker. Other reports have suggested that Al-Hilal could attempt to bring him to the Saudi Pro League by offering a significant wage. Juventus have also been credited with an interest in signing Kolo Muani on a permanent basis. He played for the Italian giants last season, moving to the Allianz Stadium on loan and scoring 10 goals in all competitions.

Only time will tell if United can put forward a convincing proposal and win the race for Kolo Muani, who remains tied down at PSG until the summer of 2028. It remains to be seen if their failure to qualify for Europe will come back to bite them, with Newcastle and Juventus both doing enough to secure Champions League football for the campaign ahead. United have still managed to bring a number of players to Old Trafford since the end of last season. Matheus Cunha arrived from Wolves last month, while teenage defender Diego Leon has joined from Cerro Porteno.
