14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi set the stage on fire in India A's opening match against the UAE in the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha on Friday, November 14. The Rajasthan Royals star hit a hundred, and he got there in just 32 balls, smashing 10 boundaries and nine sixes by then.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi bettered his own record, bringing up his second hundred in Twenty20 cricket. Vaibhav hit a 35-ball hundred in the IPL for Rajasthan against Gujarat Titans in 2025 and set the record for the fastest century by an Indian batter in the IPL.

The 32-ball hundred for Vaibhav on Friday is the joint third-fastest by an Indian in men's T20 cricket.

Vaibhav had an opportunity to break Chris Gayle's all-time T20I record of 175. However, the young left-hander was out, caught in deep cover in the 13th over when he was batting on 144. Off-spinner, Muhammad Farazuddin, got the big wicket, leaving the spectators in the stands disappointed.

Vaibhav was dispatching the UAE bowlers to all parts of the ground. At one stage, the attack looked so jaded that they resorted to bowling wides in an attempt to escape the onslaught from the young batting superstar.

Vaibhav was gutted as he expressed his frustration on the field, knowing fully well he had missed out on a chance to script history. Going at the rate Vaibhav was going, the teenager was in line to become the first batter to hit a double hundred in T20 cricket.

However, he was dismissed for 144 in just 42 deliveries.
