Parliament Monsoon Session Today Live News Updates, July 23: On the third day of the Monsoon session of the Parliament, the National Sports Bill (Sports Governance Bill) was tabled in the Lok Sabha by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, aimed at bringing the Indian cricket board BCCI under its preview along with the 45 National Sports Federations (NSFs). If the Bill is passed and implemented as a law, the the BCCI will have to be recognised by a proposed National Sports Board, letting go of its status as an autonomous body. The Bill is aimed at at bringing more transparency, athletic-centric reform and a quick resolution of disputes.

Opposition protests over Bihar SIR: Parliament on Tuesday was rocked by protests over the ongoing voter-roll revision in Bihar, with Opposition MPs raising slogans and carrying placards inside both the Houses. Ruckus in the Parliament led to the washout of proceedings in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Day 2 of the Monsoon Session. Opposition members were seen trooping to the Well of the House at 11 am, demanding a rollback of the SIR exercise, leading to adjournment of both Houses. At around 2 pm on Tuesday, both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned till the next day due to constant sloganeering.
