Wildcats Open Season at Home with Key Matchup Against No. 19 USC

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Women's Tennis opens the 2026 spring season at home this weekend, highlighted by a key showdown against No. 19 USC on Monday at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center.

The Wildcats begin the weekend Friday with a 10 a.m. MST matchup against UC Davis. The two programs have not met since 2013, making Friday's contest a fresh early-season test for Arizona. The Wildcats will look to set the tone in their season opener before returning to the court later that afternoon.

Arizona will face UC San Diego at 2:30 p.m. MST on Friday to close out the day. The Wildcats and Tritons met last season, with Arizona earning a dominant 7-0 victory. Friday's doubleheader gives Arizona two early chances to test its depth before Monday's featured matchup.

Monday's action features a highly anticipated matchup against No. 19 USC at noon MST. The Wildcats last faced the Trojans in March 2024, falling 5-2 in Los Angeles. Monday's contest marks the 42nd meeting between the two programs and serves as a major early-season opportunity for Arizona against one of the nation's top teams. USC enters the weekend ranked No. 19 nationally and features five ranked singles players and two ranked doubles teams, including the No. 6 doubles pair of Daniela Borruel and Lily Fairclough and No. 12 singles player Jana Hossam Salah, who is ranked 16th individually.

Arizona will conclude the weekend Monday at 5:00 p.m. MST against Northern Arizona. The Wildcats have never lost to the Lumberjacks and defeated NAU 5-2 in their most recent meeting in January 2025 at home.
