The 2025 US Open (24 August-7 September) is into the quarter-final stage with everything to play for.

An enthralling first week, itself preceded by the Mixed Doubles Championship, leads into the final stretch of the tennis Grand Slam in New York City.

The men’s quarter-final field is all seeds, including world number one Jannik Sinner and world no. 2 Carlos Alcaraz. Four-time champion Novak Djokovic faces 2024 runner-up Taylor Fritz in the night session on Tuesday (2 September).

There will be an Italian man among the final four, as Sinner takes on Olympic bronze medallist compatriot Lorenzo Musetti next. And can Australia’s Alex de Minaur make a first major semi-final, or will another Paris 2024 medallist in Felix Auger-Aliassime reach his second career semi four years on?

In the women’s draw there is no lack of pedigree – every quarter-finalist has either reached or won a Grand Slam final. Top seed Aryna Sabalenka is in good stead thus far, with the impending challenge of Wimbledon winner Iga Świątek.
