Arsenal are set to open contract talks with Bukayo Saka over a new deal at the Emirates, according to reports.

Saka has become one of the leading right wingers in world football, and is the Gunners' brightest star who has led their charge to challenge for the Premier League three years in a row.

Naturally, with the forward out injured with a hamstring injury for several months the Gunners' title bid has been knocked more or less completely off course, though they are through to the Champions League last-eight.

His current deal, which was signed in 2022, sees him earn around £10million a year, and will run out at the end of 2026-27.

As such, the club are thought to have begun the process of extending his stay in north London before any rivals can move to propose their own offers for one of England's best players.

The club have reportedly made tying Saka down one of their top priorities, and BBC Sport reports that talks are set to accelerate in the near future.

Bukayo Saka is reportedly set for contract extension talks at Arsenal in the near future

Mikel Arteta's side have wobbled without their talismanic star Saka but are still into the Champions League last-eight

Both Gabriel Magalhaes (centre) and William Saliba (third right) are also out of contract in 2027

As well as Saka, defensive duo William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes are also out of contract in 2027, both of whom are likely to draw interest from across Europe's elite clubs.

The central defensive duo have become perhaps the best partnership in the country, and will be up there with those in Europe, and their solidity at the back has been crucial to Arsenal's rise.

Arsenal are arguably in a much better position in talks than they were over his current deal three years ago.

Under Mikel Arteta they have improved their standing in the English game, and after two qualifications in a row look set to remain in the Champions League for the coming years.

Manchester City were strong suitors three years ago, though right now the Gunners are set to finish ahead of them after pushing them right to the end in the last two campaigns.

The BBC Sport report claims that Saka's No 1 priority is still on returning to full fitness, which could come sooner than many might have predicted.

Arteta told reporters after the 1-0 win over Chelsea that Saka has 'every chance' of returning not long after the international break, which will be music to Gunners fans' ears with their side facing Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Jorginho and Thomas Partey are set to leave the club as things stand at the end of their contracts this summer, with Leandro Trossard's deal running up in 2026.
