Man City issue fresh FA Cup final ticket update after price rises and semi-final issue

Manchester City were given an allocation of 33,000 tickets for Saturday's FA Cup final against Crystal Palace at Wembley.

Manchester City expect to sell out their FA Cup final allocation with only limited tickets remaining with four days left before kick off.

City's opponents Crystal Palace sold out their allocation in a matter of days, however a small number of tickets remain on sale in the City end at the highest price points. On Tuesday, City confirmed that the sales criteria has been relaxed so that any season ticket or matchday member who signed up before the semi-final can now purchase an additional two tickets per member, although these are understood to be for the most expensive categories.

MEN Sport understand almost 33,000 tickets have been sold in the City end, which includes an additional release of tickets from the initial 30,000 allocation. Those extra tickets are expected to sell out before Saturday's final. There is only thought to be a couple of hundred tickets left at the most expensive price points remaining - including Level Two hospitality seating which are priced at between £255-285.

While there is confidence the City end will be full, the update underlines the financial pressures facing City fans amid regular visits to Wembley. Many have told the Manchester Evening News that attending both the semi-final and final was unaffordable - even if the relaxed criteria now means more fans who were previously unable to attend could potentially get their hands on a ticket.

The Blues failed to sell out their semi-final win over Nottingham Forest with some blocks empty in the upper tier due to repeat visits to Wembley and the cost of travelling down to London on top of the regular Premier League season. The final will be City's 31st visit to the new Wembley and prices have shot up from the semi-final as well as compared to last year's final.

This is City's third final in succession - facing price rises of around 20 per cent from the last two seasons. The 2025 ticket prices of £50 and £175 also represent price rises of 95 per cent in the most extreme cases from last month's semi-final.

With the FA delaying the confirmation of the final's kick-off time until just two weeks before the final, prices for transport and accommodation also shot up for travelling City fans. The final will kick off at 4.30pm after a reported stand-off between broadcasters BBC and ITV over a time that wouldn't clash with the Eurovision Song Contest.

Pep Guardiola handled the semi-final ticket sales well, backing supporters who chose to keep their money in their pockets and vowing to win the Forest game for fans in the stadium and all those back in Manchester, too. It came amid ongoing protests about ticket prices and policies at City, although FA Cup prices at Wembley are set by the FA and separate to City.

An FA spokesperson previously said on the price rises: “The Emirates FA Cup is our biggest revenue producer, and it allows us to invest more funding into every level of English football.

"We regularly review our ticket prices for Emirates FA Cup matches at Wembley Stadium to ensure they are in line with other major sporting events, and we have not increased the prices of tickets for the Final over the last six years despite the rise of inflation during this period.

"This season, we have introduced limited price increases for tickets to the final, with the majority of these in the higher-priced categories and minimal increases in the lower-priced categories. We will be freezing the prices of almost all tickets to the Emirates FA Cup Final for the next three years.”
